Program Highlights:

Introduction to Modern AI (6 hours)

Learn to use AI in your daily life, craft effective prompt chatbots, and explore computer vision and machine translation with Pennant Education

Module 1: What Is AI and Why It Matters
Students are introduced to the basics of artificial intelligence and how it functions. They build a simple image classification model to see how machines learn from data and make decisions.
Key Concept: Understanding how AI systems are trained to recognize patterns and make predictions based on data.
Module 2: The World of AI: Vision, Language, and Decisions
Students explore how AI interprets visual data through techniques like image masking, perspective adjustment, and OCR (Optical Character Recognition).
Key concept: AI processing of visual and text data
Module 3: The Art of the Prompt
Students will learn how to communicate clearly with AI by providing better context and treating the interaction like a real conversation — not just asking a question. They’ll practice refining prompts to get more accurate and helpful results.
Key Concept: the better you guide the AI, the better it responds
Module 4: Everyday Use of AI
Students will explore how to integrate AI tools into their daily routines — from tracking expenses to setting alarms with voice assistants. They’ll practice giving simple yet effective commands to make everyday tasks easier.
Key Concept: simplifying life through smart interaction
Module 5: AI in Communication & Translation
Students will experiment with machine translation tools and voice AI to understand how they interpret meaning and context. They’ll test how well AI can communicate across languages and where it might still fall short.
Key Concept: AI language tools rely on probability to interpret meaning
Module 6: Wrap-Up and Reflection
Students will reflect on how AI can offer alternative, more efficient solutions to everyday problems. They’ll complete a final mini project and think critically about how their input helps AI reduce unnecessary predictions.
Key Concept: good input leads to better, more efficient outcomes
